I take a lot of inspiration from American Cinema and love the poster work of Drew Struzan who inspired me to try my own. Instead of just presenting the poster on the canvas I wanted to make it a little more interesting and the juxtaposition of the tidy illustrative poster on one side with the quite modernist, open space on the other seemed to work really well. The result has an essence of loneliness that I really like. |
